As I age, I find myself using the phrase "Dream Body" less and less, because I find it very superficial, and misleading. Yet, here I am using it in this title for what some may deem as clickbait. I can accept this as true to a certain extent, but I also know that most people are motivated to workout by the prospect of achieving their dream body, so I used it this time for proper context. But honestly, what is your "dream body?" On top of that, what is your dream Mindset?
The dream body is generally seen as what is most desirable/attractive to the opposite sex, so when we break it down, why is it seen as attractive? For a Man, the biological implications are that a Muscular, and Aesthetically-pleasing body is free of disease and able to fight to the death. Your body is your superficial proof that you're built to endure any encounter you and your family will face. However, when our focus is purely aesthetics, we water down our potential best look. Have you ever noticed the difference in musculature in Bodybuilders in comparison to Crossfitters? Despite the fact that you might not agree with one or the other, the fact still remains that, though top athletes from both disciplines carry alot of weight, 250 lbs. of Crossfit Muscle looks totally different than 250 lbs. of Bodybuilding muscle. Why? Because athletic muscle is functional muscle, whereas bodybuilding muscle is just trophy-on-the-mantle muscle. Functional muscle is built under the pressure of athletic twists, and predative torque. It's formed under the pressure of chasing the prey, and escaping day. It's built to produce "shows of force." Whereas, Bodybuilding muscle is built in the mirror, for the mirror. Besides picking up heavy things, muscle built for the mirror has very little real world use, which is way many bodybuilders look stiff, and walk like penguins. I'm not here to denigrate bodybuilders, I'm only here to spread truth. Why are would you add rooms to a house, that you don't fully use? All added muscle needs to be fully functional, and ready to engage in conflict at a moment's notice, which brings us to The Mind.......
Every War fought on any battlefield, is always first fought in the mind. Before you lift weights in the gym, you first think your way to the gym. Even when you're conjuring up how you want your body to look long term, and the strategy you create to get you to the finished product, all happens in your thoughts first. Furthermore, in the midst of your sets and repetitions, when the lactic acid builds up, and it becomes nearly impossible to move the weight, the difference between squeezing out an extra rep or none, is all mental. So, in my estimation physical

progress is first planted, incubated, and developed in the Mind.
