I can't lie.... Preston Bupe,Jr. beginning his weightlifting journey with me has to be one of the highlights of my year. Every Father wants to workout with their Son, and be on a Sport Team with him at some point. But, for many of us, this is a mere pipe dream since we are usually too old and too busy by the time they get old enough to lift weights or compete at a high level. Fortunately for me, at 39 years old, I've finally reached that point that I can safely lift weights with him, and watch his body mass change week to week. My son has great genetics, and he has very little comprehension of just how great his muscle-building capabilities are, which makes this journey even more exciting. All of us who have lifted before can attest to the feeling we got our first 3-12 months of working out when we got our nearly-miraculous newbie gains. He's never experienced this before, so explaining to him the feeling of changing shirt sizes in 4-6 weeks, or feeling your arms rip through your shirt sleeves, and hearing a girl that never looked your way 8 weeks ago, gasp and say "your arms got big! You look so strong!" is like speaking French to an Helen Keller. So...., I have to be patient, and wait until Christmas. I'll be logging some of his journey here. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he realizes I was right this whole time....lol.... but for now, I'm not his most favorite person in the world during workouts. But Patience is a virtue.......
